Due to staffing and resources, the Turnout Tool will not be available for the 2024 primary election. We look forward to making it available for the 2024 general election. For those who are interested in the Los Angeles County 2024 primary election, we invite them to use the below Los Angeles County Voter Turnout Tool for the 2022 primary election. While some voting locations will be different from 2022 to 2024, 2022 community-level turnout data can be instructive when planning outreach activities in 2024.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY VOTER TURNOUT TOOL: 2022 Primary ELECTION
To help boost voter engagement and participation across Los Angeles County during the 2022 midterm elections, the Center for Inclusive Democracy (CID) at the USC Price School of Public Policy, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC), rolled out an update of its digital Los Angeles County Voter Turnout Tool. The tool provided voting advocacy groups, election officials, and the general public with unofficial counts of voters who cast a ballot in Los Angeles County by mail and in-person, starting October 29 through the November 8 General Election. Along with tracking ballots cast, the tool provides dozens of voter and demographic data layers mapped to the neighborhood level to aid in the outreach and voter education process.
The web-based Voter Turnout Tool utilized data from the Los Angeles County RR/CC to create visualized data maps of registered voters who have cast their ballot by precinct and at Vote Center locations. The data provided by the RR/CC does not include a tally of votes cast as official election results cannot be tallied before 8 p.m. on Election Day. CID provided updates daily during the early voting period that begins October 29, and hourly on Election Day showing the number of ballots returned (or cast) based on voter participation data from the RR/CC. In addition, the tool enabled users to map neighborhood demographic characteristics, as well as previous election turnout data to inform outreach and voter education efforts. GEORGIA VOTER TURNOUT TOOL: 2022 SENATE RUNOFF ELECTION
The Center for Inclusive Democracy (CID) launched an update of its digital Georgia Voter Turnout Tool, designed to help boost voter engagement and participation across Georgia during the 2022 Senate Runoff Election. The tool provided voter advocacy groups, election officials, and the general public with unofficial counts of voters who have cast a ballot in each Georgia county by mail and in-person, starting November 28 through the December 6 election. The tool also provided dozens of voter and demographic data layers mapped to the neighborhood level to aid in the outreach and voter education process. The Voter Turnout Tool is one of two web-based applications offered by CID to help election officials and voting advocates plan election-related decision making and outreach. The CID Voting Location and Outreach Tool—a web-based interactive data mapping system initially launched in California in the 2018 primary election cycle—is now available in 10 states. The Siting Tool helps communities identify accessible vote centers and polling places likely to have the most success serving voters. Its robust and detailed data maps have also been widely used to inform voter outreach efforts at the community level.
